Protection from -35dB to -90dB (10 MHz to 50 GHz) YShield® paints protect rooms (bedrooms, living rooms, offices, homes, premises, businesses) from electromagnetic fields in the high frequency range as well as electric fields (low frequencies). They do not protect against low-frequency magnetic fields. These can only be attenuated by anti-magnetic compounds. You can contact us for information on the quantities to be applied in order to achieve the desired attenuation, but applying 2 to 3 coats does not always give the prescribed results. This is because each user does not take the same amount of paint on their applicator. It is much better to use the amount applied per square metre, which is the true representation of the resulting attenuation; this amount will vary from 1 litre for 0.5 to 5 square metres of surface area to be painted, depending on the attenuation to be achieved. Paint ranges vary in terms of the nature of their components, their attenuation, and the presence or absence of preservatives (MIT/BIT) for so-called more biological paints. These paints must be earthed via an earthing plate and AF3 YSHIELD-type graphite tapes or binders affixed along the walls.
