However, all metal mesh fabrics will be able to attenuate 99% of high-frequency fields when measured in WATTS (power measurement). But if the measurement scale is in decibels (dB), which is much finer, then the attenuation reading will be much lower! For example, a fabric that attenuates frequencies around 1 GHz by 20 dB will attenuate the power of the wave by 99% in Watts. However, a fabric that attenuates by 70 dB at 1 GHz will attenuate by 99.99% in Watts. Therefore, the indication of 99% attenuation in watts is not sufficiently representative of the fabric's attenuation at high frequencies.
