(Prices incl. VAT, except outside the EU)

MAX54 Yshield paint is a high-end electromagnetic wave shielding product offering protection from -43 to -100dB from 10 MHz to 40GHz against high-frequency waves (5G relay antennas, Wi-Fi, Wimax, radar, etc.) and low-frequency electric fields.

MAX54 Yshield paint is a high-end electromagnetic wave shielding product offering protection from -43 to -100dB from 10 MHz to 40GHz against high-frequency waves (5G relay antennas, Wi-Fi, Wimax, radar, etc.) and low-frequency electric fields.

The level of protection depends on the number of litres per square metre applied.

Referring to the number of coats required to achieve a specific level of attenuation is too arbitrary, as this does not correspond to anything precise in terms of the density of paint applied.

  • Explanation and attenuation level based on litreage:
1. With 1 litre per 8 m² of surface area for each application

  - With 1 litre of paint applied per 8 m², attenuation at 1 GHz will be 40 dB

  - With a second application of 1 litre of paint per 8 m², i.e. a total of 2 litres per 8 m² (1 litre per 4 m²), the attenuation at 1 GHz will be 48 dB

 - With a third coat of paint of 1 litre per 8 m², i.e. a total of 3 litres per 8 m² (1 litre per 2.66 m²), the attenuation at 1 GHz will be 54 dB

2. With 1 litre per 4 m² of surface area for each application

- With one coat of paint at a rate of 1 litre per 4 m², attenuation at 1 GHz will be 49 dB

 - With a second coat of paint of 1 litre per 4 m², i.e. a total of 2 litres per 4 m² (1 litre per 2 m²), the attenuation at 1 GHz will be 57 dB

 - With a third coat of paint of 1 litre per 4 m², i.e. a total of 3 litres per 4 m² (1 litre per 1.33 m²), the attenuation at 1 GHz will be 64 dB

MAX54 paint attenuates 5 dB better than HSF54 on average at equal density...

YShield® wall paints protect your home from external electromagnetic fields, whether high frequency (relay antennas, Wi-Fi, Wimax, satellites, radar, DECT, wireless telecommunications networks, microwave repeaters, etc.) or low-frequency electric fields (EDF power cables, etc.), but they DO NOT ATTENUATE LOW-FREQUENCY MAGNETIC FIELDS.

This paint is currently the most effective on the market. Unlike other paints, these paints do not use metal compounds, but only carbon, which acts as a conductor.

They can be used indoors or outdoors (subject to the application of a special undercoat and topcoat).

They are environmentally friendly and safe for your health, as they do not use solvents or toxic chemical additives. They are applied in the same way as conventional paints.

Emissions concerned:

  • GSM/DCS/GPRS/UMTS/LTE cellular telephone network
  • DECT cordless telephone
  • WLAN
  • Wi-Fi
  • Bluetooth
  • Microwave (microwave oven leakage)
  • Satellite transmission
  • Radar
  • WiMAX
  • Radio
  • Tetra
  • CB
  • 50Hz electrical current

Shielding of glass surfaces:

Glass surfaces must also be shielded so that high frequencies and low frequencies cannot penetrate through these areas. We recommend using HFshield fabric to attenuate high frequencies and low-frequency electric fields. Description of YShield® grounding kits:

All painted walls and ceilings must be earthed:

Either with Yshield grounding kits type GEXWC100, or with various YShield components of your choice, ideally connected to the ground according to the diagram at the top of the page.

Click on the ACCESSORIES tab on the page or EARTHING ACCESSORIES in the menu.

  1. Ensure that during installation, electrical cables do not come into contact with the components described below.
  2. Before applying the paint, connect the walls using EB2, EB1, ESX10 or ESX50 tapes, or apply YSHIELD AF3 conductive fibre (which will follow the exact path of a tape, i.e. 5 cm wide along the entire length of the wall). These tapes or AF3 fibres should ideally encircle the bottom of the walls at the skirting boards and the top of the walls touching the ceiling, then be connected to each other using YSHIELD tapes or AF3 fibres. This will ensure sufficient continuity of the earth connection. Note: AF3 fibres can also be applied after the paint has been applied.
  3. Apply YSHIELD paint and allow to dry.
  4. Apply a GSx or GFx earthing plate to the YSHIELD paint in contact with the AF3 tape or fibre.
  5. Connect the GSx or GFx earthing plate with a GLxx cable to the earth cable or via the GPE or GP1 socket.
